The JoeBlogs Switch

Hi everybody, Joe Posnanski here. Hope you’re doing great. Isn’t Mike Trout amazing? That’s pretty much how I start every conversation these days.

If I did this right — and there is absolutely no guarantee of that — you are either a member of my Patreon or you recently signed up to get my free posts. As always: Thank you.

I hope that you have heard — I’ve written about it a few times — that I am in the process of moving from Patreon to a new service called Substack. There are many reasons for the move but the overall point is that I think Substack is just a better reading and writing experience.

If you are interested in more, I’m posting a discussion thread later today to answer any and all questions (about anything really, but especially about the move).

The point of this email is to offer you a special deal because of your loyalty. Patreon will be going away in July, and Substack will be the home of JoeBlog, and for the next few days you can use the special discount link below to become a member of the new JoeBlogs for 50% off its regular price. The discounted price will be $3 per month or, even better, $30 per year.

I did this because I want to give you as regular subscribers the same rate they were paying when this thing kicked off. I’m eternally grateful for you jumping onboard right from the beginning.

From what I can tell, signing up at Substack has been a flawless experience — this, frankly, is one of the many advantages of Substack.

I will tell you that the discount link will go away in a matter of days and once it’s gone, as the informercials say, this deal will not come back.

You can cancel Patreon immediately after you sign up; I am already posting everything at Substack. If you don’t cancel Patreon, I will be shutting the site down in July, which should automatically cancel your subscription. But I will say that I am concerned there might be one extra payment on your card if you don’t shut it down … so it would be best if you do (and I’m told it’s an easy process to cancel Patreon).

In the meantime, thanks for reading, thanks for participating, thanks for listening to the PosCast (coming back in July), and just thanks.

Joe
