I love to travel, but, if you have two young children, I do NOT need to explain why this does not happen much anymore. I also love cooking, reading and sewing. I hate washing dishes, picking up messes and hearing my 7-year-old whine. Someday, I’d love to own a dog and design Web sites and write for “This American Life.â€
Right now, I’m content to hold one pretty cool job: staying home with my daughters. Yes, there are days I’d much prefer the workplace. Mostly (probably like you) I’ve got motherly guilt, because I’m thinking I’m not documenting with words, images and videos enough of their formative years. Perhaps this is part of the reason for this Blog.
So here’s who’s started it all: Elizabeth, age 7, and Katie, 3.
A few of Elizabeth’s favorite things: WordGirl on PBS, Sharpay from “High School Musical,†her new Nintendo DS in pink!, and having friends. She’s very friendly and complimentary – our social butterfly.
A few of Katie’s favorite things: singing the alphabet song, “SuperWhy,†telling stories about Goldilocks or witches, and going up to complete strangers and asking, “What’s your name?†She will be the child that allows me to visit the school principal often.
This is our place to share our adventures in 2008.

I was wondering where you bought your toy kitchen from… (The Play Wonder, wooden kitchen center) It looks exactly like one my son fell in love with at a friend’s house, but we have not been able to track down the source.
Thanks,
Alissa
Hi Alissa: Thanks for stopping by and reading! I LOVE comments! We purchased our blue play kitchen at Target and I’ve noticed our local store doesn’t seem to carry it anymore. It looks like it might be available through Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Play-Wonder-Kitchen-Center-Set/dp/B001GI0NBG
Good Luck finding it!
