Too many are not going to look at new defensive stats. But one thing they should have considered: the Mariners have 2 center fielders. They probably put the better one in center, and moved the other one. So if I think Ichiro is one of the three best OFs, then I should trust the Mariners and believe that Gutierrez is even better.
