Curt didn't know I was from Cincy, and trying to break the ice I asked him; "What was the greatest World Series ever?" Without missing a beat, he replied; "The 1975 Red Sox vs. Reds." We chatted a long time about the Series, The American Sportsman and Ted Williams (who had recently died). Curt was the real deal. I cherish the 8 hours of fishing that I spent with him that day (all on tape thankfully). When I went back to Cincy this past summer for my high school reunion, I shared that story of the greatest World Series ever. My classmates agreed!
