Dave Kindred, one of the greats in sportswriting and a good friend — and someone who, I am quite certain, has never seen his last name used in that oh-so-clever “Kindred Spirit” pun before — writes a little bit about newspapers and E-Readers here.

    I’m sorry, I have to file a protest on the inclusion of Oscar among the #1s. He was an incredibly great player, but past his prime with the Bucks, the championship notwithstanding. Oscar, like Pete Rose, spent his best years in Cincinnati wearing #14.

    Best No. 1 ever should include Tiger Woods as a candidate-solely because he held the title of No. 1 golfer in the world even while rehabbing a knee injury for 8 months.
