Newspaper Link

We’re doing all sorts of linking here lately. I guess that’s the price of working too many places. But if you have a moment to check out one thing on the Internet today — and this is assuming you’ve already watched Susan Boyle and commented on Margo’s site — then I would tell you …
Read my friend Tommy’s bit about newspapers and stories.
And hang in there … got a pretty surprising post coming up here.
Wow. Thanks for the Susan Boyle link. Awesome. My goosebumps have goosebumps.
And, yes, I left a comment for your wife.
Susan Boyle IS THE BOMB! WOW!! She should be in London’s East End or on Broadway TOMORROW – No, Make that TODAY!!
I grew up on a large dairy/seed growing farm and we had a huge vegetable garden. Growing up, I never enjoyed having to pull weeds in the garden and I did not appreciate how special the entire growing process of vegetables and grains really is. Now, decades later, I’ve come around. Yet, I think of my father back in those years…After a 12-14 hour strenuous workday on the farm, there he was many evenings spending time in the garden with his friendly hoe, defeating those dreaded weeds – and enjoying it!
This is “thanks” #2 for the Susan Boyle link. Absolutely astonishing!
I am awaiting your surprise, Joe. I know it will be a good one.
Hello Joe. Only 3 comments so far, none of them about the newspaper link story. And on that site, only 17 comments, less than the 20 for the Albert Belle post. Very sad.
I commend you for putting up the newspaper blog. I’ve read every article with great interest. As someone who does not work in the media, it’s been a great learning experience.
I certainly don’t pretend to have all the answers to the future of newspaper question. However, I do have an idea you may be interested in. Please let me know, and I’ll send you an email.
Thanks so much for the link to the newspaper blog post… it was really a great one. I sent it on to my husband, who was a small town reporter in Western Massachusetts for a few years before becoming an English teacher. It was a tough job, but I know there are things he still misses about it, and going to meeting after meeting, getting to know the people and the rhythms of a town… I still believe that’s something valuable that I just don’t see a blogger taking over. Maybe it will happen, I don’t know. I hope it does. But there’s a lot of thankless work that goes into newspaper reporting, and I hope we find a place for that, because it takes a lot of that work to find the stories.
Life is about stories.
I really love to read some articles that have great positive impacts on its reader and benefit by reading such article. I admire these writers in sharing their views and or opinions that can enlighten the mind of the readers. Great Job and continue inspiring readers.
