No. Um, no. NOOOOOOOOOO!

I usually let my wife handle the Mom stuff*.

*And if you go on to the site now, as I know you will, you will find that she is ripping me AND messing around in my garage. When the cat is away …

BUT … I simply cannot let THIS go.

Snuggies are coming to get our children.

First person to paint a face on theirs such that it looks like the baby’s head is helplessly sticking out of the mouth of a hungry creature gets a million points.

None of the children look happy. I’m guessing the moms are only smiling because they were paid to.

How can 94% of the poll takers think that education is not bad yet 16% of them think the world is not round?

Maybe they think that education is pretty good, but getting one is not so important

Is 5 posts in a day a new Poz record?

I’m pretty sure most of the people who think the world is not round think that round means spherical. Dictionaries differ, but if one takes round to necessitate a sphere, then the earth is not, strictly speaking, round. Rather, it is an oblate spheroid. On top of that, it has lots of little bumps and crevasses that make it not perfectly round, anyway.

I think part of the point of the poll question is to have fun with the ambiguities in the definitions of the concepts involved. What does round really mean? What is crime, and what is good (or bad)? What is a great song? What is beauty? Because of the inherent ambiguities, you can’t have anything close to a consensus answer to any of the questions, especially if you make people choose between a “yes” and a “no.” I wonder what would happen if Joe included a “depends” option…

I think you’re being a bit tough on the Peekaru. Comparing this to the Snuggie is like comparing penicillin to leeches.

The Peekaru meets a need, looks well-designed and well-made, comes in five sizes and five colours, and appears to be providing employment to US workers. A winner all round, I’d say.

Thirty-five years ago I used to cart my son around in a contraption modelled on the backpack used by Russian troops in the Crimean war — I made sure it was lost by the time the next two came along. I’m guessing I’d have kept the Peekaru.

I hope Joe will make a post today regarding the death of Nick Adenhart who was killed in a car accident last night. I am sick about this, just awful news.

Joe, you really need to clean out your garage. What a mess!

Joe, please stop scaring us with these evolutions of the snuggie. The mutation rate for this product is frightening. I fear we are only days away from a snuggie that has evolved to gently wrap and protect our cars. From there it’s only one small step to our homes and then THE FLEECE WILL HAVE WON!

Fun graphic just on the Rays Sox game. Matsuzaka is number 3 all time in the AL in terms of number of strikeouts in his first two years with 355. The other two guys are both favorites of this site. #2 is Blyleven with 359. And #1 of course is Herb Score, with a preposterous 508.

Lost amidst the hilarity of the images is the utterly goofy tagline: “Baby wearing made warm…”

Since when does one wear a baby?

Paul F.- I remember being taught in school that if the earth were the size of a pool ball it would smoother than a cue ball. Just sayin’…

As someone with a vested interest in the educational system (English, adjunct, post-secondary), it makes me happy to see that your “education” question has the smallest number of detractors, with 7% nay.

(Personally, I don’t understand the 7% except as a protest to the question itself or as an expression of nihilism–4 nobody can deny that existing in the world requires some level of education, no matter how miniscule, just to avoid perpetual violent death. Then again, I’m a Mets fan, so maybe not.)
