More! More! More!

OK, I FINALLY figured out how to do one of those “Read the rest of this entry†links so that I don’t have to put the whole freaking post on the front page of the blog. I’ve only been trying to figure that out for a year. I have NO talent for technology, I swear. But I finally figured it out, so now the front page of this blog will look a whole lot cleaner. I’m SO happy.
Editor’s note: Sigh. Already one person is asking me to go back to the old way because of some RSS Reader issue. I FINALLY have a technological breakthrough and apparently it screws up something else. OK, what do I do … you want all the posts on the front or do you like it this way better?
PS: OK, the votes are in. We’re back to the old ugly way of super long blog posts. Sigh. I’ll tell you what I’ll do … I’ll leave up the new blogs as full entries for a couple of days, and then truncate them.
joe,
i believe a challenge has been put forth to you.

Ack! I liked it the old way. I read your blog using an RSS reader, but now your entries are now truncated. Please go back to the old way!
I always prefer the old way, for all blogs, but I understand why an author would want to do it the other way.
Whatever keeps the RSS ticker happy.
I prefer the new way for when i am trying to find things in older posts.
Thanks for the ABBA quote! I like the old way, but it’s your baby…I’m gonna read it either way, just like the glorious book. First incredible epiphany, “Maybe his child is sick.” The Hall of Fame isn’t good enough for Buck, and neither is sainthood.
I prefer the old way, Joe.
Thanks!
Aryeh
I also prefer the old way.
Old way.
I prefer the old way.
I prefer the old way, but if you are using your website for ads or anything, you’ll want to have it so they’ll have to go to the website to read everything.
I prefer it this way because if you want to post a comment, the page is already loaded. Same for the comments of others, they’re all there.
I was going to ask that you make the RSS feed full entries, but evidently it’s been that way for some people all along. Weird. I’m using Bloglines — you other guys?
Allow me to vote for a way that my RSS reader gets the whole post, please…
I prefer the old way……..
Another vote for old way (Few things annoy me more than clicking a “Read More” tag and finding there’s nothing there.)
Yet another vote for the old way. It’s easier to copy and paste your enteries into a word doc or an email at work that way then to have to click on a link. Covert reading of this blog makes the work day go better.
Old way. It isn’t a true Poz blog unless it has displays the longest posts in the blogosphere.
I want it all and I want it now.
old way – for the same reason that oddibe mentions.
Full posts, please.
It’s your baby, Joe. I read it either way. I like the new way. It’s easier to go to old posts.
old way please. the less navigating the better
Joe – you do too much for us. It’ll be the death of you, trying to please everyone like this!
But, yes, full posts for a few days then truncated is the way to please everyone. So thanks…
Hm. Sorry to be such a bother, but the posts are still showing up only partially in my RSS reader (and others — I tested). So, at the moment, you’ve got the worst-case scenario: full posts on the front page and partial posts in the RSS feed.
On the bright side, this suggests the possibility of having the ideal situation: partial posts on the front page and full posts in the RSS feed.
Joe — If you want the best of both worlds, copy and paste the entire post without the more tag into the optional excerpt window. I think that’ll give you what you want — full posts in the RSS feed and truncated posts on the front page.
